The Black family had many skeletons in their closet, both metaphorically and literally. However the darkest, deepest skeleton that they guarded with all they had was that on the 17th birthday of all members of the Black family they would undergo a creature inheritance.
You see the Blacks had creature blood in them, and due to their…interesting ideas of marriage, it had managed to stay mostly undiluted.
The Black family was full of incubi. And they were proud of it, without their creature status they may not have been able to claw their way up to where they were now.
However when the spare of the Black family inherits something else…well the consequences of that were not pleasant.
