Years passed, and all of her sisters had happily married and settled.
All except for plain and tedious Mary Bennet, of course.
Mary liked exactness, was extremely religious and hard to please. Her mother, Mrs. Bennet, had not given up yet, however. Mary must accompany her older sister, Elizabeth, to the many extravagant events and excursions she and her husband host in hopes of snatching a rich and quality husband. It was either that or off to the nunnery she went.
Mary had no hopes for such an unrealistic thing to happen to her. Especially when she had all the luck of suddenly catching the eye of the most despicable and impertinent man she had ever met.
