Summary
Lucy left Highwind after suffering an attack in Highwind that left her physically and emotionally scarred. Wanting to get away from all she ever knew, she choose a place where she could start fresh, a place in the middle of the desert -Sandrock- a quiet town, where nothing happens, a place where she would be safe. If only she knew, what fate had in store for her.
MAJOR SPOILERS! Graphic violence, disturbing situations, drug use, suggestive sexual assault. This story is very dark at times, please don’t read if you are sensitive to any of the above things. I love Pen, but in this, he’s a terrible person.
In this story I do skip out some unimportant events, and the timeline is a little different. I change some of the dialogue and don’t go into much detail in some parts. For example when Lucy is going through an in game mission, I don’t want anyone reading through loads of dialogue when we all already know what happens, so I try and condense the missions into a few paragraphs. And use dialogue more when the characters are getting to know each other.

Summary
Maybe if she had had a night to sleep on it, maybe if she hadn’t been trembling and dizzy with fear, she would have chosen differently. But really, it was the only way. To keep herself safe from the sadistic Captain “Black Jack” Randall, Belle had no choice but to marry that ridiculous brute Gaston. He’s handsome, but spoiled, selfish, and unkind, a true beast of a man. He finds her stubborn, contrary, and not at all like an obedient little wife should be. It seems impossible that they could ever become friends, let alone fall in love. But maybe, with a bit of understanding, reflection, and transformation, they can get their fairy tale happy ending after all.
A retelling of Beauty and the Beast 1991, with Gaston in the role of the beast, set in an 18th century Outlander-inspired AU where England won its wars with France and now has authority over the country, and Belle and Maurice are English refugees living in France.
