    Maxine Mayfield is not Billy Hargrove's sister. They're just two shitty kids brought together by two shitty parents who have a shitty relationship. She hates him, and he definitely doesn't like her, and that's the way he likes it.

    So, when Billy's dad tells him to haul ass to Maxine's school because 'she's sick', he only goes because he knows what'll happen at home if he doesn't.

    But when he reaches Hawkins Middle to see Maxine, and Steve Harrington shows up, well... that pisses Billy off. He doesn't want to be that little shit's brother, but Steve fucking Harrington sure as hell isn't her brother either.

    But then the nurse says, "Your brother's here", and Maxine yells 'Steve!".

    And Billy's fury suddenly merges into something else entirely.
