Summary

Hi everyone! This fic first existed in the form of pages in a 4” by 6” notebook. This notebook was one of a few that one of my best friends (TrashSlinger) and I passed around in middle school in the early 2000s. The experience is difficult to recreate on Ao3 but I wanted to put this up as a testimony to the Power of Friendship!
I also need anyone who reads this to know that Gohan’s dialogue was written by TrashSlinger in special handwriting. This was the case for all of Gohan’s dialogue throughout all notes and notebooks, very helpful for knowing how to respond.
I was tempted to name this file “Science” in honor of the folder on her family’s computer that TrashSlinger kept typed fanfiction in. As far as I know that deception did work and no one else checked on the Science homework.

Summary
Will tightened, rather than loosened, his grip on her neck. Moved his right hand down from where it clasped his wrist to her heart, to feel it beating first impossibly hard, and then slower, weaker, as it ran out of oxygen. His eyes lifted and met Hannibal’s gaze boring into him, his face unreadable to anyone else, but Will could see the pride in his eyes.
Finally, her heart slowed to nothing. The last beats of it were faint, drowned out by Will’s own pulse, and he let her body drop, lifeless, to the living room floor.
Hannibal opened his mouth, but Will already knew the question.
“Good. It feels good.” he said.
He bent to the floor to pick up the phone and placed it impassively back onto its cradle on the wall. He walked over to Hannibal and knelt beside him, their eyes locking again.
“A different man has risen from the water.” Hannibal said.
“Yes.” was Will’s reply.

Jack Crawford repeated, “No further questions!” at the top of his lungs like a mantra. The way a child would, in combination with ears covered and eyes screwed shut, to block out an unpleasant sound.
“Did you eat them!” Lounds yelled over the din. “Did you eat the mushrooms!”

Summary
After very publicly (some would argue theatrically) losing his mind and murdering three young women in an unconscious state, FBI consultant Will Graham is sentenced to serve three consecutive life sentences in the notorious Shawshank State Prison. Upon arrival, he is unsettled to find himself in a cell neighboring that of infamous serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who is 12 years into his own life sentences and amuses himself dealing in fine contraband.
When Will approaches Lecter with an unusual request, the two strike up a friendship which, over the years, develops into a powerful infatuation that will change them both irreversibly. But prison is no fairy-tale world, and there are dangers lurking around every corner: the violent captain of the guards, Jack Crawford; the scheming warden, Frederick Chilton; and the brutal gang known as the Sisters, led by the murderer Francis Dolarhyde.
And then there is the secret Will is hiding in his cell. A secret that, sooner or later, will change everything.
