The effect of those words was immediate and startling. Pierrot’s large, luminous pupils narrowed to thin, reptilian golden slits, then flared wide, swallowing the iris in a sea of obsessive black. He crossed the remaining distance between them in a literal blur of color and shadow. He stopped just short of touching M!Y/n, towering over him, his chest heaving slightly. The unique scent of him washed over M!Y/n in a dizzying wave — dark, bitter cocoa, aged parchment, the sharp tang of ozone from an incoming storm, and something strangely electric that made the fine hairs on M!Y/n’s arms stand straight up.
