Summary
In old age, Shane returns to Russia to lay a portion of Ilya’s ashes to rest with his mother after also laying some of his ashes at the cottage they shared. Memories surface of their final days together, shaped by Ilya’s long struggle with a terminal illness and the emotional conversation they shared near the end of his life.
