Summary
During the "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" mission V finds Johnny's old body again and decides that, instead of going to Mikoshi, he wants to save Johnny and his body. To do that V sacrifices himself.
When Johnny wakes up again in his own body, he knew that V must've died. Rogue was telling him that. The news was telling him that.

Summary
V starts feeling Johnny on a deeper level, and his hallucinations are getting more vivid as Johnny's projection stabilizes. The Relic has come to an unusual state of balance, where its overwriting process—replacing V with Johnny—has paused. As their bond grows even deeper than before, the illusion becomes unbearable: Johnny is close enough to feel, but not to keep. And sooner or later, they'll have to choose.
