Gladion sounds like a creature dying, some kind of breaking thing, and Hau never wants to hear him sound like something dying, Hau never wants to hear him sound like something breaking.
Gladion clings to him, he buries his face in Hau’s chest and makes another long, wet, ugly sound. He goes tight around Hau and then loose and then tight and then loose and then tight and Hau swallows against the rocking clench of nausea, he grabs Gladion by the head and holds him close with his fingers splayed against raised white scars, and oh, he feels sick, he feels wrong, he feels bad.
