    Look, being thrown through time and space isn't fun in the first place. But being attacked while already in such a situation? That’s just bad manners. Darkrai would know, of course, suddenly being on the receiving end of just that.
    But at least he landed in the past, meaning he has the perfect chance to finally take his revenge on those pesky ‘heroes’ that got him there in the first place. And he has the perfect plan, this time: Disguise himself as a perfectly harmless Pokémon, get close to them, and once they fully trust him… stab them in the back and watch them suffer!
    Now, if only he could stop himself from starting to like the once-human… that would be great. And where, exactly, has the original partner Pokémon gone?
    (Can technically be read without knowledge of the Mystery Dungeon Series)

    (was intended to be crack. is now just a story with the occasional humour but also angst and too many words. and a surprising amount of character development for Darkrai. basically the Redemption Arc he never got.)

    Though no one knows how or why, humans have been appearing in the Pokemon world more and more frequently over the past few decades. It takes time for them to adapt to a brand new body with no memories (and there’s always a lot of confusion about the talking animals and sentient teapots floating around), but most find a happy new life in the Pokemon world.

    However, as the natural order of the world begins to break down—evolution becoming impossible, mystery dungeons and natural disasters cropping up at an alarming rate, and the gods themselves going dormant—some are starting to suspect the rising number of humans has something to do with the world's imbalance.

    Every crisis needs a scapegoat.

    Nia just wants to return to her old life and those she left behind, but to do so she'll have to team up with a bitter charmander who's carrying his own baggage from a painful past.
