    Three trouble making orphans on the run from the authorities suddenly find themselves no longer on the run, but in the care of three separate hero families, in a last ditch attempt to stop them being shipped to juvie. This would be out of this world news for anyone who didn't have a double life as a vigilante, a mountain of trust issues and childhood trauma, had been hiding hybrid traits since they could write and were being separated from their psuedo brothers for the first time since they met.

    Oh, so that's why they weren't jumping for joy.

    The first time you use your powers, a mark glows into existence on your skin. Those without powers are also without marks. Tommy Innit is registered as unmarked when he applies for a job at the hero tower, and he plans to keep it that way. After all, his powers could be a death sentence.
    When superheroes are heavily regulated, people start to fall through the cracks. As mind readers disappear around the city and mysterious fires seem to go ignored by the heroes, two vigilante organizations struggle to take their first breaths and discover a history long since buried.

    The world is separated by luck. People born with abilities rise to the top of society and those who were born unlucky are left to fend for themselves. A 17-year-old boy gifted with wings begins a crusade against crime, attempting to protect those who are less fortunate. Tommy hates his gifts, leaving the wings tucked away and unused. Under the ruse of a normal person, he goes out as an illegal vigilante, risking life and limb to protect those who cannot protect themselves. His best friend is not exactly thrilled with this idea and the official heroes might have something to say about it as well.

    What happens when Tommy meets a winged hero who has prospered working with the feathers on his back and not in spite of them? What will the famous SBI think of a young "normal" going out to fight crime?

    When the SBI is tasked with capturing the very vigilante that they have grown fond of, what chaos will occur?
