Summary

“I miss him.”
It's barely above a whisper, but Will hears it loud and clear. He sighs, adjusting to sit on the edge of his mattress. He pats the spot next to him, beckoning the hero over. “I know.”
Dick only hesitates a little before filling the space. “Before, you said I was using you as a substitute,” Dick says. “You were right. I was- I am. I was always able to count on Wally to tell me off when I did something stupid, or pull me out when I was in over my head...but…”
Will watches him expectantly, “But?”
“But he’s not here. He’s not coming back and it’s my fault.”
(A follow up to the conversation between Will and Dick in Season 3, episode 4, Private Security. I desperately needed a follow up scene but we never got one, so I wrote this a while back and have decided, through rewatching the show, that you should all suffer with me.)
