正如实验需要记录才能复盘，我忽然萌生了记录自己人生的兴趣。然而，散落各处的实验记录似乎已足以证明我的丰功伟绩——正当我为此苦恼时，愚人众迎来了它的第九席。于是，我决心记录「富人」的成长。
此句为续写。声明：执笔者并非已死的赞迪克，而是此刻在他扉页上添注的多托雷。在此之前，我从未设想过自己会与潘塔罗涅真的发生性关系。我迟疑着，是否该记录这些关于他的隐私，也顾虑这本手记是否存在泄露的风险。答案几乎是：没有。如果他真的发现它的存在，我会遵从潘塔罗涅的意见，尽数焚毁或保留。而如果可以，我还想请他重新为这本《潘塔罗涅观察记录》起一个新的名字。
