Darby wouldn’t call himself a man of honor exactly, but he’s always had a code of sorts. Sleeping with Mr. Employee of the Month, the Teacher’s Pet to his sworn enemies ain’t exactly the stand up thing to do. Not when those enemies tried to retire his mentor by force; not when the guy who’s been moaning his name a couple nights a week also very occasionally beats the shit out of him on their behalf to keep up appearances (and then kisses every bruise he left behind in apology). The whole thing is a conflict of interest, but when has Darby not been interested in conflict? So really, this is all par for the course.

Hadn't really thought anything about it—certainly hadn't thought the guy was with someone else, and honestly, hadn't given a shit if he was. He'd just been running high on victory, on the pay-per-view being within reach, of that asshole MJF not getting what he wanted, of clawing it out from his treacherous fingers, and so he'd reacted. Darby had wanted to kiss Jack Perry, and so he did, and he'd thought that would be it.
