“Hey, Wednesday?” Enid asked, draping herself over her mate’s back, mindful of her arms so she didn’t disturb her typing.
She hummed noncommittally, her fingers not slowing on the keys of her typewriter.
“You know how everyone says what you’re doing at midnight on New Year’s is what you’ll do for the rest of the year?” she asked, her right hand picking at a loose thread on Wednesday’s collar.
“I do not,” she answered plainly.
The werewolf swallowed hard. “Well, I was thinking-”
“I didn’t realize that was something you were capable of,” Wednesday taunted, her fingers stilling as she turned to look at her, “What is your idea, mi loba?”
It took her a moment to respond because she was busy looking at her mate’s perfect face. Her dark, expressive eyes, the fringe that came down to mask the depths of those eyes, her full lips that should really be used for something other than talking right now. Wednesday trailed a blunt nail along the now obvious length in her jeans. “Then it isn’t really mine, is it?”

His face contorted in anger, and he took a step forward, using his taller stature in an attempt to intimidate her. “Turn the fuck around, put your hands behind your back, and shut the fuck up.”
She smirked, complying with his request. There were plenty of witnesses in her favor, not to mention the person filming the moment from upstairs. And she shouldn’t push him with Enid in the room. She didn’t want to force that side of her mate out if she didn’t have to.
