Summary
There was more to the contract than a gnosis and test of Liyue. It seemed like a simple deal five hundred years ago: so long as Morax never had a soulmate, the Tsaritsa would never harm Liyue and she would not get his gnosis. But the moment he gained a soulmate, all that belonged to him was forfeit. He thought the deal left Liyue safe—he'd lived thousands of years without a soulmate. The Tsaritsa would be dead and gone by the time she'd have a chance to collect.
Five hundred years later, Childe appears in Liyue, Zhongli gains a soulmate mark, and everything falls apart.

Ajax furrows his brows. He doesn’t look at Sara, doesn’t want to see whatever it is that her face expresses. Instead he looks to his hands, how they are laced with scars.
The phantom touches of warm hands linger, fingertips tracing each and every line, worshiping it for what it was. And during that time, he believed the muttering of admiration to be true.
But now as he thinks, maybe that worship was a way to make the other believe it himself. Because loving someone like Ajax, is difficult. It needs a lot of persuasion. A lot of ruminating before judgment is to be cast truthfully.
And maybe Zhongli had desperately tried his best. Only for it to come with a predictable ending.

Summary
A Fatui Harbinger is killed by an outsider with flaming red hair. Usually, such an incident would be an instant death sentence, but the battle was done under the rules of the rite of ascension in the Fatui, meaning that the outsider had ascended to become the next Harbinger after killing the previous. The Tsaritsa wouldn't let such a phenomenon pass, of course, and instead offers the outsider to the 11th Harbinger, Childe, to take as his mate.

Summary

Presently, that same Harbinger decides to waltz right back into Diluc’s life and make him have to reconsider everything he thought about the other man, whether he wants to or not
