    Summary

Magnus gave a pained smile back and threw the clay down on the wheel like I had already demonstrated. He dipped his hands in the water and set to centering. So far so good. But as always he seemed to stall out at coning. It seemed that no matter how many times I told him it could be a little crooked, it wouldn't hurt anything, Magnus was always going to psych himself out at this part. So, I did what I felt any kind-of-not-quite boyfriend should do while trying to help his crush make a meaningful wedding present for their mutual Valkyrie. I slipped up behind him, pressed close against his back, and tried to help. Of course, trying to work with your hands on a mound of clay that you can't see for the broad, muscular shoulder of a sweet, unfairly attractive and dense boy in your face is much harder than it looks. Trying to see over said shoulder made things even more difficult. When I stood and craned my neck over Magnus’s shoulder my hands got really dry really quickly due to friction, and that wasn't the only place where I hadn't thought to account for basic physics.
