    Most of the box, though, was taken up by photographs. Some were held together in stacks by a loose rubber band. Others hung solo. A few were underdeveloped, others taken up mostly by a flash of light. Some of them had no people. A lot of them had so many people, it crowded out the frame. The same people kept appearing, over and over again, often with new haircuts and better clothes. Mostly, it was two people, sticking their tongues out, smushing cheeks, flipping off the lens, smiling wider and getting older, together.
