Summary
Alexis Ness doesn’t belong. He never did— not in his house, his family, or at school. Alexis was belittled all his life by his family for believing something as stupid as the impossible. Alexis meets a boy whom he shared a slice of cake with on Christmas. It was the last time Alexis had seen him. Now, standing tall was the same boy Alexis had met when they were younger. He stood in that football field, reaching out for Alexis. The boy was Michael Kaiser. Alexis’s feelings for Michael grew since the day they reunited; so did the flowers. The way Michael simply understood Alexis's idea of soccer, Michael was the human embodiment of the 'magic' Alexis had vowed to look for. The longing desire to finally belong had finally been fulfilled. Michael is the symbol of impossibility. Michael, is the magic Alexis had believed in. The magic he was belittled for trusting in, for worshiping even. Michael was a deity— a God, a savior. Alexis's burning passion to find magic in everyday life had finally led him to the one and only, Michael Kaiser. But the magic had also led Alexis to flower petals— specifically roses; all painted in blue. Just for Michael, bloodied by Alexis's very own blood that had vowed to serve Michael, no matter what.
