For some unexplained reason, Nicky has a gift, a knack for sensing the unknown. He's no psychic, but maybe someone dropped some magic potion on him when he was younger and a little bit actually stuck.
If he's being honest, he doesn't understand it to this day. He just knows he has this heightened...instinct of sorts, and it seems that instinct applies to recognizing when people meet their potential loves.
As much as he's gotten used to it, he never thought he'd one day apply his gift to his family.

“Your mother left very specific instructions regarding her will. Her house, her money, everything in her name, really, is going to one person.” The lawyer continues flipping through the papers. “One I'm afraid isn't you.”
Aaron looks at the lawyer and then starts to laugh. He laughs so hard he's sure it's bouncing off the walls and ricocheting back into his chest just to be laughed out again. Suddenly he stops. “Who'd she leave everything to?”
“I'm afraid I cannot say.”
Aaron snatches the paper and reads it. “Who the hell is Andrew Minyard?”
(Or: When his mother dies and leaves everything to Andrew Minyard, Aaron is left with one problem: he has no idea who Andrew Minyard is.)
