Summary
“That’s the thing; being in my life does not mean you need to know everything.” Not that Jason really wants anyone besides Roy and Lian in his life at the moment. Things are just still too raw, and Jason can’t seem to catch a break when it came to everyone in his family.
The room falls silent again, and the overwhelming urge to leave only grows. Jason hated this feeling, he hated knowing people were contemplating his relationship. It made him feel like he’s been stripped down and exposed to them all.

Tarantula has intel that would take us days to acquire on our own. Unless you have a real, justifiable reason for shutting her out, we’re keeping her on the case. At least until we have the situation under control. Am I understood?”
Biting his tongue until he tastes blood, Dick nods.

Summary
He’d bled out. He knew he had. If the batarang didn’t rip him away from this world on its own, then the bomb should have finished the job, and it did. Jason felt himself slip away. Once you’ve experienced death, there is no mistaking the sensation for anything else. Everything had been carried out the way it was supposed to, so how?
Jason didn’t leave the apartment for nine days. He ate canned ravioli and watched reruns of news footage covering the showdown with Joker, who had landed back in Arkham without a scratch on him. Batman saved the day again, folks. Red Hood was off the streets. Ding dong, the witch was dead.
Most hoped that the Hood was gone for good, either slain by the clown or scared away by the Batman. Either way, good riddance. Black Mask was still alive and kicking, regrettably, the fuckin’ cockroach.
And, more regrettably, so was Jason.

Leslie sits them both down in her office immediately after they arrive. “I’m not going to mince words,” she says as soon as they’re settled. “Jason, your blood test results came back. I’m sorry. You’re HIV-positive.”
Time stops moving.
Leslie, ever the professional, plows right on before the bombshell has had time to settle. Jason doesn’t need her to explain what HIV is to him. He’s well aware. He’s watched and read depictions of the illness before, in novels and musicals, most of them tragedies because sickness always ends in tragedy. Like terminal cancer, or an oncoming train while you’re stuck in the middle of the tracks. No escape. No happy endings.
