“You don’t have to do this Ryan!” Butcher pleads, pain in his voice as he lay hunched on the floor. He’s bleeding out. “You’re nothing like him!”
“Maybe I’m exactly like him.” Ryan responds blankly, his eyes illuminating as the whole room flashes an array of red.
Butcher closes his eyes, Homelander laughs.

Summary
Before dropping and unconscious Butcher on Becca’s lawn, Homelander decides to enjoy some quiet time with Billy. When the man is awake, he is of course violent and aggressive but when sleeping peacefully with a terrified baby on his chest, Homelander cannot help but see Butcher in a different light and in indulge in a possibility of another life for them.
