    Shame is intimacy and sexual power hides vulnerability. Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent have an "arrangement" of sorts which reveals how their dynamic of BDSM is an emotive language, showing their public perfection which shrouds Clark's private surrender. Beneath the polished veneer of heroism, Batman and Superman conduct private debriefs that have nothing to do with mission reports. Bruce Wayne, steeped in control and terrified of emotional exposure, punishes Clark Kent for his recklessness, yet not to correct him, but to contain the chaos Clark evokes in him. Clark submits not out of weakness, but as an act of radical intimacy: a way to be seen, touched, and known by the one man who refuses to admit he feels anything at all. There is an impossibility of being loved without being known.

    (Or: Secretary (2002) but superbat and Bruce and Clark get freaky.)
