Summary
They’re both seniors in college and Nick falls in love with Jess hard and fast. It’s exhilarating because he’s never felt like this with anyone before. He’s crazy about her. She’s just this incredible force of nature that he can’t help but be in awe of. And maybe it’s selfish, but he wants to spend every moment with Jess that he can.
But the time they have left at their undergrad is quickly slipping away and Nick can’t help but feel like the end is on the horizon. He’s only abstractedly thought about what he wants to do after graduation, whereas Jess has like a 35+ step plan for her future. He’s 100% sure that she’s going to be the president one day, or at least make a ton of change happen as a legislator or activist or lawyer or anything else she sets her mind to. Jess has all these grand plans for her future and Nick can’t help but feel like he’s just a stepping stone on her path to something amazing.
