Nothing short of a disaster would stop Dr. Robby from packing up the saddlebags on his bike and hitting the road for the next few months, despite him scaring the hell out of the people of the Pitt that love and care about him.
So, that's exactly what happens.
His brand new resident nearly getting killed on the interstate after their fifteen hour shift gives him no choice but to stick around a while longer. After what happened in Pedes during PittFest, it's his turn to be there for Dennis when he's rolled into the emergency room just before Robby can take off.
They both see each other at their worst. They both want to save each other's lives. Or at least try.

Summary
Four years have passed since Dennis Whitaker first walked into the Pitt as a nervous intern who couldn’t seem to stay out of trouble.
Now he’s in his final year of residency, more confident, more capable, and entirely too comfortable arguing with Michael Robinavitch when he thinks he’s right. Somewhere between endless shifts, impossible cases, bad coffee, and the kind of trust that only comes from working side by side for years, they’ve become something more than attending and resident.
Something more than friends, too.
The problem is that neither of them knows what to do about it.
As graduation approaches and job offers begin arriving from hospitals across the country, the future suddenly stops looking as certain as it once did. Dennis tells everyone he’s still weighing his options. Robby tells himself that wherever Whitaker ends up is none of his business.

Immediately, Dennis was blushing again. Hard. Anything that previously came out of Robby’s mouth was tame compared to this charged tension in the room that Robby wasn’t even in. How did he always seem to do that?
Before Dennis could open his mouth to respond, Robby chuckled and asked, “Have you been holding back from me, Whitaker?”

The first time Robby called Dennis on his sabbatical, Dennis didn't think much of it. That was until he kept calling, and Dennis always kept answering. Before he knew it, Dennis was calling him, and shit. He was in a talking stage with his boss.
