    Summary

When people started asking when Phainon would get married, he wished he could answer with the confidence of a man engaged to someone.

The problem is not that he hates his fiancé. The problem is actually Phainon loves him very much. So much that it would destroy the comfort zone they have right now, pulverizing their relationship into eternal damnation if he ever chose to be that greedy. Proposing a marriage to his best friend slash fake fiancé would be a recipe for cosmic disaster.

    Summary

It was not a secret he loves to watch Caelus sleep peacefully. Back then, shame and guilt were all he could taste, apologizing silently for inappropriate glances and collected himself before other emotions could bloom. Right now, those feelings are only fueling his desire like some sort of sick obsession. He could not help but smile, cocky with the fact that he could see Caelus so defenseless, burning the image of the sleeping figure behind his eyelids.

With how much Caelus is loved by all, Phainon had to regulate the muddled possessiveness as he watch the Nameless surrounded by other people. Which brought him to where he is currently, kneeling on the bed like a devout worshipper.

    Summary

Sleep had become Caelus’ newest problem—not because of nightmares, but their far more problematic opposite. The kind of vivid, sweat-drenched dreams that demanded emergency laundry duty in the morning.

He wouldn’t normally complain—except it was every damn night, with crystal-clear recall, starring the same infuriatingly handsome man. His mental stability and circadian rhythm were at risk if this goes on any longer.

He’d even swallowed his dignity and consulted Black Swan, but the next Trailblazer Expedition loomed with no solutions. Fine. He’d cope. Chronic insomnia already wrecked his sleep schedule, what were a few more graphic interruptions?

But who could expect that the man from his dreams—the one who’d been thoroughly acquainted with him in countless ways—was standing right in front of him on this new planet. In the flesh.

Certainly not Caelus, that's for sure.

    Summary

His knees were slightly painful after kneeling on the floor for so long — regardless, he sat in Dan Heng’s lap, body pushing forwards as Dan Heng’s back connected to the bookshelves. It must have been painful, but Dan Heng did not make a noise of protest. Instead, Dan Heng pulled him in, a hand winding its way up the back of his head, carding through his hair, pulling him closer.

For two very stoic individuals, their actions burned with a passion infrequently seen. Caelus kissed the same way he fought — fiery, dominant, fierce. Dan Heng matched him easily — equal parts passion, swiftness, and precision, the same way he wielded Cloud-Piercer.

And that was how Dan Heng held him — roughly, but with a certain gentleness in his fingertips, as if he might break, as if he might shatter. Caelus wanted to tell him that he wouldn’t — he had been fatally injured by a Doomsday beast, he had been stabbed by Cocolia through the ribs, and yet, here he was, still alive, still breathing.

Where Caelus latches onto an anchor to stop drifting amongst the embers of his muddy past.

    Summary

"How am I supposed to live up to those before me? I hardly have what it takes to be the hero everyone thinks I am.”

The spirit’s silhouette flickers, as if amused by his words. “You're not supposed to. Figure out what being a hero means to you. There's no need to question your heart, friend… I know you have it in you to grow into your own wings.

You are my chosen one, after all.”

After becoming the chosen wielder of the sword that seals the darkness, Caelus is left to navigate how to become the hero the kingdom needs while simultaneously juggling learning how to get along with the prince he's been tasked to protect and managing expectations.

Easier said than done, as they say.

[Or, a journey full of challenges, expectations, love, and grief. A hero's love letter.]
