Porsche feels a familiar flare of stubbornness. “You’d be surprised what I’m brave enough for.”

Summary
Fairy tales aren't real. There are no happy endings. These are the truths Kinn knows.
Ever since stepping into power, Kinn has been suspicious of the Russians-led by Mikhail Alexeyev-operating in Bangkok, suspecting them of stealing from him. He sends Kim to investigate, and the truth turns out to be much worse than his initial fears. He resolves to destroy them, even at the risk of all out war; he can do no less if he wants to avoid appearing weak.
It starts with reconaissance at Alexeyev's party, an event promising a 'grand spectacle'. Kinn is expecting something appropriately depraved, suitable for the Russian mobster and his tastes, but nothing could have prepared him for the reality of what Alexeyev has been hiding. Nothing could have prepared him for the way it will change his life forever.
Because fairy tales aren't real.
Until they are.

Summary
“I’m a light sleeper,” Kinn admits. There is an unsettling glimmer in his eyes. “It doesn’t take much to wake me up.”
Slowly, Porsche smiles at Kinn, something vaguely nasty. It feels like his heart is in his throat as he opens his mouth and says; “I know.” He cocks his head. “So am I.”

Summary
In the dark, low places of the underworld is a club called Sangue Blu, a place where the depraved and the debauched can enjoy themselves with reckless abandon, and enjoy the brutal fights that take place in the infamous pit. Kinn finds himself amongst them, invited by the owner to celebrate a newly formed alliance. He doesn't expect to be entertained by the mindless violence and spectacle, until the next match is announced; a fight to the death, in his honor.
And then he appears; the Phoenix, a man with golden skin and dark eyes and a saunter in his step that makes Kinn's blood hot. He doesn't stand a chance, not against an opponent twice his size, but the arrogant jut of his chin says he believes otherwise.
For the first time in a long time, Kinn feels intrigued.
Against his better judgement, he places a bet.

Kinn stands before him with his arms firmly crossed over his chest, the expression on his face carefully neutral, though the black pits of his eyes burn with an intensity that makes Porsche shift uncomfortably.
"I won't repeat myself."
Porsche sets his jaw, curls his hands into fists, and forces a nasty smile onto his face.
"Or what?"

Summary
Porsche takes a deep breath and then lets it and his scent out, his pheromones swirling through the unknown alphas, soothing ruffled instincts. This is part of what makes Porsche so good at his job. His scent is like metaphorical catnip to other alphas, a quirk that had not been the most enjoyable in high school.
The growls and hisses in the room quiet down, and Porsche wonders if the situation is really as bad as he was told.
A loud bang has him jumping back, putting his back to the far wall as his heart thumps wildly. A snarl follows it, making all the hairs on Porsche’s arms stand up. Oh fuck. He fights down the terror that the noise fills him with and forces his legs to move, backing down the hall.
His guide is still there, staring at him with eyes wide with shock.
“Okay, that’s a really bad case,” Porsche admits.
“I can’t tell if you’re a moron or the bravest person I’ve ever met.”
Porsche turns to the other man and smiles, “Bit of both if I’m honest.”

Porsche hesitates. He didn’t think this was the direction that Kinn would go in and it confuses him, coming now as it does with Kinn looking at him expectantly, no sign of the sorrow that’s haunted him for a week, like he’s finally come to a decision.
“Get on the bed,” Kinn repeats, arms crossed. “Take off your clothes.”
Or: Porsche broke Kinn's trust on the night he left to meet Vegas. Kinn comes up with a way for Porsche to earn that trust again.

Holy fucking shit every single facet of this fic is mindblowing in the most DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL of ways. I am in awe of Haz yet again for knocking it out of the goddamn park with their unmitigated talent and wonderfully unique spin on the telling of the story. Some of the lines of dialogue in this fic genuinely made me grind to a fucking halt. They were just so deeply poignant, so remarkably accurate in capturing the essence of the characters, and so devastatingly, perfectly written that it takes my breath away. More than anything else, the characterisation of these characters in this fic is literally a shining monument, an inarguable testament, to Haz's incredible skill as a creator. I feel Kinn and Porsche when I read this story; I hear them, I see them, I sense them almost as intimately as if I was watching the show for the first time all over again. It's mindblowing that Haz was able to do that. I am grateful beyond words for such an emotionally heartfelt, deliciously convoluted, awesomely kinky and PHENOMENALLY written fic like this. We truly don't deserve the gifts that Haz gives us. FUCKING READ THIS THING OR SO HELP ME.
