    Summary

The Titans are spending a week doing community work at Gotham's orphanages. Simple. Safe. Exactly what Tim Drake needs to keep running smoothly.

Then he picks a fight with Damian — exhausted, sleep-deprived, and crueler than he means to be.

Damian didn’t fight, instead he takes his blanket and his pillows. Locks himself in a guest room with a keypad that every code Tim tries.

Day four. Day five. Day six.

Tim's mother used to tell him: you can't fight with someone and not make up within three days, if you don't want to lose them.

    He's running out of time.

    Summary

“We ride without halt. No complaints. No excuses. I will not have you freezing to death besides.”

A missing scene in which a runaway prince, a deeply unimpressed father, and one very questionable tavern life choice finally collide. Daeron would very much like to keep pretending everything is fine (it isn’t), while Maekar would very much like to stop being disappointed for five minutes straight (he can’t)

** Now no longer a oneshot but a collection of missing scenes from Daeron's POV, chronicling his ongoing efforts to make increasingly questionable decisions and everyone else's efforts to survive them.

Chapter 2: Maekar informs Daeron that he will, in fact, be participating in the tournament. Neither Daeron nor Maekar's blood pressure takes this particularly well.

Chapter 3: Daeron and Egg go on a perfectly innocent midnight excursion. They are absolutely not sneaking out to warn a certain hedge knight. That would be ridiculous.

Chapter 4: Daeron is reluctantly prepared for the Trial until Maekar arrives to inspect the situation personally. Apparently, making sure your son is properly dressed for what is very likely his last day alive counts as fatherly affection. For Maekar, anyway.

    Summary

“Perhaps the seeds of madness are sown in the womb.”

Not for Aerion, no. Nor for Egg. But Daeron had always known. Since he was small, he saw the tapestries upon the walls burn above his cradle, and he knew. Drink or delirium, it did not matter. One way or another, his visions would be the death of him.

He had not reckoned he would have to suffer more than one.

The gods want something from Daeron. They must, to have devised so exceptional a hell. For why else would they have him live these days over and over?

If they have chosen Daeron to change the future, they have chosen the wrong man. Daeron is not a hero. He never has been.

    Summary

“T’mthy,” Damian rasped. A hand reached up and weakly pinched the fabric of Tim’s sleeve. “Love you.”

Tim’s brain screeched to a halt. He mentally added confusion to his log of Damian’s symptoms.

Because there was no way in hell.

    ***

Tim is convinced that Damian doesn't see him as a brother.

    He is wrong.

    Summary

Jason was dubious. “Do you actually trust this guy?”

Dick shrugged. “I trust he’s got money. He’ll let us stay for as long as we want. It’s a better deal than we’ll get anywhere else.”

It sounded like a dream, but Jason knew better. They both did. “But what’s he gonna want in return for all this?”

Dick just ruffled Jason’s curls, trying to be comforting despite his own anxiety. “Don’t worry about it, little wing. I’ll handle it.”

    “Dickie—”

“Just focus on you and Timmy, all right? I’m the oldest. I won’t let anything happen to you guys.” He wrapped the arm not already holding Tim around Jason and tugged him down so he would lay with them. Dick didn’t plan to sleep a wink, but Jason didn’t need to go sleepless. “It’ll be okay, Jay. I’ll take care of us.”

(This is a sequel to my other fic We’ll Be Carrying Each Other so check out that one first!)
