Summary
It wasn’t that Leon hated his name, not at all. He just hated hearing it. It was always followed up by someone asking him for something.
So you tried your best to extend your kindness to him, and to only use his name in positive ways. But maybe you ended up being too kind, and creating too much space in your life for him.

Summary
“Uh -” Evie could feel herself starting to sweat a bit. A combination of fear and pressing up against a man who could explode and rip them to pieces at any moment. “How soon do you need to consume something?”
Gale closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. “It’s hard to be an expert on something like this but my conservative estimate would be as soon as possible.”
“How soon is ‘soon’?”
“Now, probably wouldn’t be too ambitious.”

Summary
You fail to be discreet in your assessment of him. He catches you staring, and raises a thick eyebrow.
"Forgive me," you say, "I am only wondering how a man of your prowess found himself trapped here."
"As I said," Halsin answers, "I'm not quite myself."
—
You find Halsin locked in a worg pen. Even worse—it looks like he's in rut.

Summary
Your voice shakes as you stare up at the massive beast. “M- my, you’re quite large aren’t you? Big eyes, big snout, big…” A gulp as you try to swallow around the hard lump of panic still nestled in your throat. “Teeth.”
It cocks its head to the side and lets out a huff that sounds suspiciously like a laugh. The bear’s nose twitches once before it gives its head another shake. A current of shimmering golden energy cascades over its body, radiating from the tip of its nose. Beneath the rippling tide of magic, you watch as the bear’s form shifts, fur receding and bones rearranging, until a large elf stands in its place.
“So you’re the one that’s been eating my food, wearing my clothes,” he rumbles, his voice like the thunder that heralds a coming storm. “Sleeping in my bed.”
OR: You get more than you bargained for when you get lost in the Wood and stumble upon a quaint cottage.

Summary
"I could," he says to Cullen in an easy, conversational tone, "whip you for it. But you're no stranger to pain, no? It would teach you little, if aught, and the Herald would hate us for it. Her pain would be more instructive, but again, she would only hate us."
