"What do you mean?" Charles bent down a little to pick up Leo in his lap, who was sniffing at his legs, and then looked back at Max with suspicion. "I thought we always were."
"Yeah, we are, but... like, really, really honest..."
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
"Baby, is there something you want to tell me?" Max raised an eyebrow.
Or: Living together was supposed to be easy, but Charles' mood swings are all over the place. Max isn't paranoid, but as Charles' behavior intensifies, he can only draw one logical — if terrifying — conclusion. Pregnancy.
