Viktor doesn’t want to be here. It had taken a lot of pleading, losing a bet, and even more pleading before Jayce had managed to drag him to the party, so, yes, of course he’s miserable.
Not that Jayce expected him not to be, though, to be fair to his partner. In all his begging he had verbally batted away Viktor’s attempts to put the words you’ll enjoy it when you get there into his mouth with an insistence that he doesn’t even enjoy these evenings much. And that Viktor owes him at least one, please, Vik, even if you hate it.
So, Viktor caved. And now he’s here. Hating every boring second.

When an urgent radio transmission comes in with claims of an immune survivor, Viktor Novotny—once esteemed immunologist, now Firelight engineer—and his “half-feral, borderline-suicidal science boyfriend” Jayce Talis decide to risk everything to chase a cure for ARC-4N3.
Going north is like asking to die. It's crazy, and maybe even a little stupid, but they'd both be lying if they said that wasn't part of the appeal.
Whether a cure is possible or not is still to be discovered, but regardless, they’re determined to see what still remains—both of the world, and of themselves.

Summary
He was about to see Viktor again after months of torturous misery and excruciating pain and suffering. One of the only things that kept him going during his imprisonment in the alternate world was the thought of seeing Viktor again someday. He had fought to stay alive with the simple hope that he would be reunited with his partner again. That he would bask in Viktor’s presence, take him into his arms and hold him close. Keep Viktor from leaving him again. But now things are different, and he understands what he must do.
He needs to kill Viktor.
Runeterra is doomed if he doesn’t. But that is the last thing he truly wants to do.
Jayce Talis loves his partner as more than just a friend or a comrade.
