Destined to be miserable, Peeta Mellark decides to drown himself on his 21st Halloween, only he doesn’t die and is rescued by a ‘mermaid’ named Katniss. Katniss originally looks like a mermaid but belongs to a pack of magical, evil beings called Sirens that look like mermaids but are very evil and enchant people by their beauty and song only to imprison them underwater as “decorations” or food. Can Katniss leave behind her pack and magic for Peeta and live a normal life as his human wife or will she give in to temptation and make a feast out of him (since she doesn’t have an eye for beauty and won’t use him as décor.) (Dystopian AU). After years of suffering through war, famine, and poverty, District 12 found a way to institute peace and equality by the practice of Sameness. Through eradication of the knowledge of the painful aspects of history’s past and strict regulation of the district by a panel of Elders, D12 has created a seemingly utopian society.
