    Fred here. If you are reading this, congratulations on either excellent taste or criminal behaviour. This is the documented history of how my twin brother and I accidentally acquired a small feral celebrity, discovered he had been living on spite and crumbs, and responded in the only reasonable manner: emotional attachment, light surveillance, and increasingly reckless loyalty. There will be schemes, deeply intelligent observations (mine), poor decisions (usually also mine), and the ongoing mystery of why adults keep failing children so consistently. If at any point you think we are overreacting about Harry Potter, you are wrong.

    George here, writing because Fred can’t be trusted unsupervised with narration. Let me be clear: if Harry Potter so much as sighs in a suspicious manner, I will notice. If someone hurts his feelings, I will know. If someone hurts him, I will become difficult to prosecute. He has the tragic habit of acting like crumbs are feasts and kindness is charity, which is frankly offensive to me personally. So yes, we fuss. Yes, we hover. Yes, we would cheerfully commit several light felonies for his wellbeing. That is called love, and if you’ve got a problem with it, form a queue.

    Tom had always considered it particularly petty on Albus Dumbledore’s part in assigning Tom to be the one to introduce muggleborn first years to Hogwarts. He was sure that Albus thought it was some sort of teaching moment, exposing Tom to muggles repeatedly as though he’d gain some sort of empathy and moral epiphany whenever he met a half-decent parent.

    However, it didn’t matter how many muggles he met or how many of them actually tried to be a decent parent to their magical children. There were more failures than successes, more broken homes and troubled children than not.

    And it seemed to be getting worse every year.

    Professor Tom Riddle discovers the child that was thought to be a squib is not. When opportunity presents itself so neatly, he is not one to shy away from grabbing onto it.

    After his first year of Hogwarts, Harry accidentally meets and befriends a few older boys from the neighborhood that he first thinks might also be wizards. Even though he discovers his mistake quickly, Harry continues to meet up with the boys in order to escape the Dursleys and also to join them in their game of Dungeons and Dragons. Every summer between school years, Harry goes to play D&D with this group of friends and every year he learns a little more what it's like to be a proper wizard from his muggle friends.
