Summary
Maki visits an injured Nobara in her room after she returns from her fight with the special grades. One thing inevitably leads to another, and neither of them would have it any other way.
This isn’t how Maki imagined it would go when they finally got around to doing this, this tangle of limbs and desperate need, but somehow it feels right. Nobara has always been the impulsive one, rushing to meet a challenge head-on heedless of the danger, the reckless yin to Maki’s calculated, precise yang. And Maki loves her for it, even as she worries what kind of trouble it might get her into.
Takes place right after the climactic finale of the show.

“What happened between you and Rangi?” Yun lay stretched out on his back, arms under his head. “Caught her crying at the table when you left. Did you two fight or something?”
A furrow deepened between Kyoshi’s brows at that, her brush strokes flying in wide, erratic swathes across the page. “We’re not friends anymore,” she said eventually. Yun rolled over onto his stomach to regard her with open surprise.
The tip of her sleeve got caught in the ink-pot, pigment seeping into the threadwork like tar; she turned her face away from him for a closer look, but he caught a glimpse of her tear-stained face all the same. “We aren’t good for each other,” she said softly, and her voice broke. “It took us a while to realize that.”
Or, alternatively:
The one where Kyoshi works herself into a tremendous jealous fit because she thinks she isn’t good enough for Rangi; Rangi suffers through a crippling bout of passive-aggressive, sapphic insecurity because she thinks she isn’t good enough for Kyoshi; and Yun all but flings himself into a screaming, root-pulling paroxysm because they’re both being insufferable.
