Summary
The Regretevator is a popular choice amongst many individuals as a mode of transportation, whether it's getting to your local store with creepy employees, unsolicitedly going into people's apartments, entering minigames that mean life or death, or being somewhere you shouldn't for any sensible reason. It is praised and revered for its ability to travel just about anywhere while providing entertainment to many species. That being said, it comes as no surprise there had been attempts at knockoffs, but they always failed to gain the popularity and audience the Regretevator had.
These alternative versions of the Regretevator, unfortunately, had major funding issues as well as a huge number of safety concerns stemming from the sheer amount of bugs where many passengers would end up outright missing or unable to respawn outside of their rides due a substantial amount of errors and bugs in every single one. Very few of these alternative dimension traveling options survived; many were put out of commission.
The Depressorail is one of those failed knockoffs, a train left to gather dust and rust away within an abandoned subway station. Yet, despite that, it still has power...

…That was not his father.
He saw his mother’s expression of glee disperse. In front of her, there was a man in a police uniform. He wasn’t anyone Joe recognized, not even one of his father’s officer friends who occasionally came over for special occasions when it was the Tazuna family’s turn to prepare dinner for them. The man stood up straight, but his face had a somber look to it, like the face his mother wore when she had to tell Joe they didn’t even have enough money to buy the offbrand candy he always liked.
The only difference? This was worse.
Before he could even hear anything, Joe’s aunt came out from the bathroom, drying her hands with a towel and spotting the officer at the door. In that moment, he saw the look in her eyes change, too, and she ushered him out of the front entrance and told him to stay in his room for a little while.
On July 12th of the year Joe was turning twelve, devastating news hit the Tazuna family.

A good time ahead into the future, a new education system has been declared throughout the lands, it revolving around each student harnessing an 'Ultimate'. These Ultimates are the best of their class in certain professions and topics, which means that there's quite a lot of people who don't end up with one.
It is a move in the right direction though!
However, with new progresses come new troubles, and soon enough, horrors break lose among the animals living their slightly reformed lives.
...Too bad Peppa and her friends, the youngest era of Ultimates, are caught up in their own little horror, lead by a host of black and white.
