“I mean, get your ass back down there and sleep, or you’ll never step foot out here till your brain is butter, or they dump your ashes in the ocean,” Mansk hisses. His ears flatten involuntarily. The chivalry is gone from his tone, and the warning finally clicks in Spider’s mind. He notices the rifle cradled patiently in Mansk’s arms for the first time.
He’s being offered a second chance.
“Why would I trust you?” Spider counters. Mansk shrugs.
“You shouldn’t. You start trusting people out here, people you think you know, then it all goes to shit.” There’s something else behind his words that Spider doesn’t quite understand.
Spider has to fight to keep his head above water for fear of losing himself. Hundreds of miles away, Lo'ak wrestles with the guilt of being forced to run.

Summary
Jango Fett has always pictured his cause of death to be amid the heat of battle, an honourable last stand fitting of a true Mandalorian.
Instead, he finds himself falling, falling, falling— surrounded by shards of glass and the mutilated bodies of his vod’e… his brothers. It’s almost pathetic, considering the circumstances at hand.
It could be worse, he thinks, as he plummets to the depths of Coruscant’s underworld. His head aches. The bacta patch plastered to his skull is a gutting reminder of his failure, but he would rather be damned than succumb to the idea that his enemy has already won. Sanji hums, drops his head onto Zoro's shoulder, and feels his own pain, feels Zoro's intake of breath. Sits there, kinda sleepy now, Usopp making snuffling noises horizonal on the other side of the table, and Zoro very warm under his cheek. Maybe he is too drunk, because his eyes are closing and his breathing is evening out, and the hurt isn't that much, anymore, can barely feel it at all.
“You little shit,” Zoro says eventually.
Sanji grins to himself, says more to Zoro’s neck, “You think?”

Sanji used to think getting shot by Cupid’s arrow would be a beautiful ordeal, but he gets to know that Cupid is a stupid cunt and the whole experience sucks. He can't pull the shitty arrow out of his heart no matter how hard he tries. So he does the next best thing and kicks Zoro squarely in the chest.
