Rue hadn’t even considered that making her own friends could be an option. She’d been too worried about what would happen to her when Ruby’s friends realised she’d been lying to them.
The other Kingdoms would obviously be mad, but how mad? Would they hate her? Would they blame her for Ruby’s disappearance? Would they cast her out? If they did, where would she go?
(Milkman had killed his clone. Would Ruby kill her if they ever came back?)

“Friendship is nice,” Puddle mused, “But I don't really need it, I guess. Friendship isn't like fish, you can't just trade it to get the things you want. I don't really want anything, I guess. I'm happy, even if someone's ship did destroy my house.”

Summary
The actual rain would be nice, the water and air were refreshing, and the drops felt like little kisses from the sky. But drying off afterwards would be awful. Clothes all damp and sticking to her skin; and the inevitable shivering and icy fingers from the chill did not sound like a good way to end the day.
Lightning struck in the distance, and in a blink, the full downpour had begun. Rain pelted against the tree tops and path, shaking branches and turning the dirt into sticky mud.
For a brief moment, the rain was just as pleasant as she’d thought…
Until Graecie heard the growling from the tree line.
