“It’s so hot,” Kaveh whines, her voice pitching into a high whine. Alhaitham rolls her eyes, swatting away at the vines in front of her with her sword. It is hot, and humid. She can feel sweat dripping down her neck, curving down her spine beneath her shirt, but complaining isn’t going to help anything.
“Wasting your breath complaining is counterproductive, you know,” Alhaitham shoots back over her shoulder, and she doesn’t miss the way Kaveh flips her off.
Kaveh and Alhaitham encounter a strange plant in the middle of the forest.

He knows that every time Phainon picks up a book or jacket or anything he apparently forgot to pack when he moved out, Phainon replaces it with something else to ‘forget,’ a new item to come back for and start this play all over again.
