When he lands into the boat, Seungmin opens his mouth to tell the man how impressed he is by the way that he was able to pull himself up so easily, especially with that tail of his. His gaze trails down the man’s body from where smooth, pale skin transitions into inky black scales echoing dark, chromatic colours of the rainbow. It looks like an oil slick, how cool.
Wait, hang on. The man has a tail.
What the fuck?!
“You’re…you’re a-”
“Siren,” the man – fish? replies without hesitation. “Yeah, I have a tail and lure sailors to their death, blah blah blah, but I have a name. It’s Jeongin, by the way.”

There it is again, that tenderness that makes his chest tighten.
“You're too worried,” he sighs.
“And you're being reckless, baby fawn,” Mingi mumbles.
“No, I’m needy,” counters Yunho with a petulant whine.
OR: Three months into his pregnancy, Yunho is going crazy without the intimate touch of his mate. Mingi is cautious and careful, but after three full moons of restraint, neither deer nor wolf can ignore the carnal pull of instinct any longer.

"I promise," he says anyway. "I will stick to the shadows."
People always say it is safer to move through shadows in the Dark Wood, so the shadows conceal you, keep you out of the light, keep you hidden from predators, prevent you from being prey.
Felix is far from prey, in the Dark Wood, but he doesn't tell his mother that, either.

Mrs. Oh doesn’t finish the sentence. She doesn’t need to.

"I can't think straight." Yunho whispered, leaning into the touch on his cheek with a sight. It was so soft. Domestic even. It made him miss Hyeri even more. But Hyeri wasnt there. And she wouldnt come back.

Mingi’s expression shifted, something tender settling in. “You’re really in your head tonight,” he murmured, not accusing. Just observant in the way only he could be about Yunho.. “You want me to take care of you?”
Yunho let out a quiet breath, almost a laugh, though there was nothing funny about the way his chest ached. “Yeah,” he said, honest in a way that scared him. “Just… for a little.”
Mingi nodded like that made perfect sense. He lowered himself carefully, weight distributed, an arm sliding under Yunho’s shoulders so he could tuck him in closer instead of pinning him down.
Yunho’s eyes fluttered shut.
“You can relax,” Mingi said quietly. “I’ve got you.”
That was it.
Jeong Yunho was going to make the biggest mistake of his life over a few gentle words and soft touches. He was going to baby-trap his best friend.

But it doesn’t matter.
Because, now, Mingi is the one staring down at his table in disbelief. The yellow creature pats at Tyuie’s pale blue cheeks with a pitiful whimper.
Mingi goes very, very still.
Then slowly, he lifts his head to stare at Yunho in disbelief.
“You—how—” Mingi starts, then stops. He closes his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose, taking a deep, steadying breath as though counting to ten. Or perhaps a hundred.
Yunho offers a nervous, helpless chuckle.
“Close the door, Yunho-ssi.”
Yunho closes the door.
When a tiny, blue winged creature suddenly appears in front of Jeong Yunho while he’s on vacation, he's convinced he's experiencing the beginnings of a psychotic break.
Except when he returns to work, it's to the discovery that Song Mingi, department head of Finance, sworn enemy of Sales (and most definitely not the man Yunho has an embarrassingly fat crush on) too has a little winged creature of his own. Except its yellow. And has wings behind its head, instead of its back.
…Yeah, Yunho's losing his mind after all.
