Summary
"Vincent's breath left him in a sharp, involuntary sound. His hand slapped against the glass before he could stop it. There was no question. No doubt. The universe had not merely brushed him with coincidence — it had insisted. This woman — his woman, his mind supplied immediately, possessively, the phrase sliding into place as if it had always been there — walked with purpose but not haste, her steps measured, her head slightly bowed against the wind. Vulnerable. Alone. The sight ignited something violent and reverent inside him all at once. His thoughts fractured, splintering into a thousand frantic directions, each one circling back to the same impossible conclusion: this was not chance. This was confirmation."
1952, Wilmington. Vincent Whittman, a 41 year old TV star and cult leader, finds himself unhealthily infatuated with a woman he saw once in a café. His already strained mind stretches thinner, as he devotes himself to his obsession. While she doesn't know he exists, Vincent creates his own delusions to comfort himself until she will surely be his.

Summary
The relationship you and Vox have is...special. More intimate than a boss and their subordinate usually are, but you're far, far from something sweet and romantic. The relationship is a tale as old as time; You two fuck, he treats you. As much as the both of you want to keep things simple, cut and dry, easy to quantify...Unfortunately things don't work like that. And they only get messier the more you learn about each other. The more you learn about yourselves, even. So much for no strings attached, huh?

“Morning sweetheart.”
You turn, and the very first voice you hear sends your pulse racing. it hits you like the crack of a whip and your shoulders stiffen.
Douglas sighs under his breath. “Ah. And that,” he says in a tone of resigned amusement, “would be our resident… meteorological personality.”
You pivot.
Vincent Whittman leans casually against a camera rig, hands in his pockets, tie loosened, smirk firmly in place. Like he owns the air you’re breathing.
“Well,” he drawls, pushing off the rig and strolling over, “if it isn’t my favorite morning disruption.” Irony driping of his mouth.Your jaw clenches.
Douglas gestures politely but entirely uninterested.
“Miss, this is Mr. Vincent Whittman—our weather reporter.”Vincent steps closer, mismatched eyes gleaming with amused recognition.
Of course.
All of New York City, millions of people, and the one arrogant prick you managed to piss off before eight in the morning turns out to be a higher-ranked coworker.
