Summary
“And so you are contemplating marrying one of the men warring outside?” He asked slowly. You swallowed and nodded. “Some backward Lord who will seek to claim you, chain you to his castle and his bed, and have you spawning babes that will have his name instead of ours?” His words were deceptively soft, but felt almost dangerous. You blinked at him, utterly surprised. You had never been on the receiving end of your uncle’s famous, quiet ire. He was unlike Uncle Maekar, all raging fire and thundering curses. No, Baelor had always been the quiet storm, mounting with the slow, chilling surety of the darkening skies before the tempest. His hand on your cheek dropped slowly to cup the back of your neck, and you felt your breath catch as his mismatched eyes held you hostage.
“I would not have you marry another man, sweet girl,” he rasped, brushing a kiss over your hair. “Be free if you want. Remain unbound, and I will be happy for you. But if you truly wish to wed a man, then I can only abide by one choice.”
One-shot. Explicit.
