Immortality, prior to contrary belief, fucking sucked. Tommy realized this quite a while ago, but he's found a group he would give his never-ending life to. But is it really worth the risk of getting hurt, knowing that they won't outlive him, that he'll mourn over their graves alone and cold? Tommy didn't know, and maybe that was the scariest thing about it.
TLDR: Tommy is an immortal with trauma, and manages to get attached to some mortals and isn't sure if he can deal with more emotional damage. He's also getting real sick of being called a child.

Summary
Tommy couldn’t watch history repeat itself, L’Manburg may have not meant to be, but the SMP still had a chance, there was still a small ember of hope. But nobody else could see it, there was only one way to get them to see that they were following the same path, and that was to have it meet the same fate. Actions speak louder than words they say, so Tommy was going to burn this place, his own personal hell to the fucking ground. He will make them see, make them deviate from their path. He won’t let them fall apart like his home, they will rebuild stronger, they will have the chance that his country never had. If they hit rock bottom, they could only go up, and Tommy was going to make sure they hit bedrock.

For example, Jonah Magnus finds himself not in the body of Elias Bouchard, but of one Eric Delano. Everything is different, but in many ways it's much the same. After all, Gerry Delano will make an excellent Archivist one day.
Martin Blackwood doesn't know what to expect when he transfers down to the infamous and 'haunted' archives, but he knows within a few hours he's bitten off more than he can chew. There's worms, eldritch beings of impossible fear, a circus, and two very attractive Archivists who act more as one entity than two separate beings. He thinks he should have read his contract.
