Hanahaki disease is a distinctly human affliction, and even in humans it is rare. One must have a genetic predisposition for it, as well as end up in a situation where they repress incredibly strong feelings for someone rather than act on them.
It was believed that since Spock is majority Vulcan, copper-blood and all, that he would not be predisposed.
And yet, the petals still fall.

Summary
Captain Kirk was declared missing months ago, and the crew of the Enterprise finally finds him kneeling at the end of the leash of a slave trader. Jim refuses to tell anyone what happened, but the trauma his body sustained relays the story well enough. Commander Spock and Doctor McCoy are at a complete loss at what to do.
Then Commander Spock remembers his elder counterpart.

Jim Kirk has never let a top wrap a collar around his neck. Not ever. And Star Fleet is ok with that, even with him being a Captain, so long as he follows the rules and gets topped regularly. But when he's caught in flagrant violation of this rule, Spock swoops in and snaps Jim up, with a little help from McCoy.
