    Summary

A year out of college, Scaramouche's life is great. He's got a one-bedroom apartment he shares with his wonderfully sympathetic boyfriend, Kazuha, going on their one-year anniversary, and a beautifully opportunistic office job just a twenty minutes' drive away. He's got everything he could ask for. His life is simple and manageable, and Kazuha reassures him he's inching away from the 'illness' that plagues him more and more each day, by the grace of God. He holds his life together by tape and tight corporate smiles, trying desperately to be the healed version of himself he so viciously wants to be.

He isn't, inescapably. The tape rips. Everything comes crashing down after that.

    Summary

Scaramouche, a junior year Biology student, attempts to finish his semester-long thesis paper about aviary evolution and behaviorism, juggling his intense writer’s block with personal hardships including the standoffish nature of his estranged mother and her reaction to his coming out.

He meets a boy with lilac eyes and warm hands, who propositions him for a mutual situationship. There’s only one debilitating, overarching rule, of which becomes increasingly difficult to adhere: No strings attached.

Things must break before they are fixed.
