The way Sangwon’s hands instinctively found their way to his waist, fingers brushing against his midriff in a way that never fully claimed him but lingered just on the edge of possession. The grip was never firm, never quite a proper hold, yet he could feel the subtle flexing of Sangwon’s fingers—an almost hesitant pressure, as if Sangwon was holding back from fully surrendering to the urge to pull him closer.
And now, for the first time, he dared to entertain the thought that maybe Sangwon was as into him. The possibility sent a flutter of nervous excitement through Anxin, delicate but insistent.

A simple long-sleeved shirt and jeans clung to his quiet presence, ordinary yet unmistakably his. The club’s harsh lighting could barely do justice to him, but to Sangwon, he was still that angel on earth—the same as he had been four months ago.
Zhou Anxin moved with purpose now, weaving through the crowd toward Kangmin, who was lost in conversation, laughter spilling between sips of his drink. In that moment, amid the chaos and fading echoes of the night, Anxin was a glass of clarity—familiar, distant, and achingly close all at once.
Or, Lee Sangwon and Zhou Anxin had broken up six months ago.

Summary
Zhou Anxin is an omega.
Sangwon ruminated on the fact in his mind longer than he had expected. He had never cared about secondary gender that much, nor was he going to start now. Even with the assumption that Anxin was an alpha—no different than he was—he had thought the Chinese man was one of the prettiest people ever to exist.
Maybe he thought of how Anxin was the Planet C center, bold yet as pure as the driven snow with his handsome face and tall stature. Maybe he didn't think Anxin would've confided something so sensitive so nonchalantly. Like it was a public secret, when it was most definitely not. Maybe his mind went off the rails and thought of the worst—of men and alphas and, unfortunately, South Korea. The worst combination, really.
And it's not like he was trying to exclude himself from that group. Worst of all, he feared he could be as bad, because the first time he saw Anxin, he had thought, who wouldn't want to love him?
Or, Sangwon's a rather unpretentious (and unnassuming) alpha, and Anxin's a closeted omega.

“No,” Kangmin pinched the bridge of his nose, exasperated. “I don’t buy him perfume with a bouquet of his favourite flowers I accidentally found along the way. Or give him my jacket when it’s slightly chilly outside—are you insane?”
“How weird is it if someone does all that as a friend?” Sangwon asked, failing to hide his worry as he bit his lip.
Kangmin looked back at him, horrified.
“Lee Sangwon. Everyone thinks you’re dating Zhou Anxin, the bombshell of a sophomore from management. Why do you think girls and guys stop fawning every step you take? Why do you think people stop hitting on Anxin-ie as well?”
Or, apparently, everyone thinks that Sangwon and Anxin are in a relationship.
