Summary
“Are you okay? You look sad.”
One day, Eden will meet her soulmate, and this will be the first thing they say to her. She hopes that it is soon, and thinks that maybe it will be. Almost everyday now she spends miserable and cold out on her fire escape-- just for a little bit of peace. Then again, who knows. Gotham is always cold, and happiness being hard to come by is hardly anything new.
Meanwhile, somewhere across the city, Jason is taking tires off of cars for money.
“Are you not cold? You should be wearing something warmer than that.”
It could be any day now that he’ll finally meet his soulmate. The chilly air in Crime Alley is certainly strong enough for someone to be saying that kind of stuff. For now though, he has to bring home some money to his mom. Someone needs to take care of her, and he's too busy to worry about things like soulmates.
Their marks light up at the thought of each other, despite this.
