Mike slammed his empty glass on the counter. The woman flinched, and every eye in the bar seemed to turn on him. His heart was pounding but it was already too late. She was in his head now.
On Mike’s bad days, he was glad that El had died, because he knew that he would have made her life miserable.
On his worse days, Mike didn’t care about that and wished he could at least be in misery with El.
