Summary
“I’ve seen photos of you, you know?” Meian says, voice lush and deep. “So I can imagine how you look right now, all worried and hopeful, all sweet and wanting. Surrounded by sunlight and starlight. It’s a shame that you don’t have that in return, huh?”
Atsumu lets out a short breath of a laugh. “No one’s called me sweet in my whole life,” he says, because that’s what sticks with him.
“Well, I’m sure they’ve just been blind. You’re plenty sweet, Atsumu. And you’re lucky that I’ve got a sweet tooth, because I’ll come and visit ya.”
Atsumu - a painter, focused primarily on sunrises - catches the attention of a wealthy, mysterious man who wants to be his patron. Communicating first by intricate letters, then by phone calls, Atsumu becomes enthralled by him, until the only thing he desires is to meet him.
It's a shame that Meian can only visit at night, though.
