Thirty-five years ago, Hiroto Oshiro raised his son, Hiroto Ame, without the influence of his mother. The boy was his pride and joy; it had been years since Hiroto had felt such genuine happiness. Pain was never a hard concept to grasp for Izuku. It was something everyone felt, he knew. Nobody was exempt from such a thing; no, pain was just as rudimentary to life as breathing is. And somehow, people have gotten it into their minds that the graver or the more complex the cause, the worse the pain is. This, Izuku reasons with the fact that no human can see how deeply something digs into one's mind.
Izuku is six when he realizes that he is the first, and quite possibly the only person who can see that. He is six when he realizes that it's just not a thing people can do. And he is six when he realizes just what those flowers on everyone mean.
