In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon’s designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. Summary

After years of a stable home, stable career, and stable boyfriend, he finds himself floundering as he adjusts to a new life of decidedly unstable loneliness and self-employment. He turns to ride-share services and delivery apps as he searches for his new direction, and is finally able to lay the delicate foundation of a new beginning.
Unfortunately, that foundation is promptly disrupted by his most irritating passenger.

Moving awkward and stiff yet somehow charming, sword at his side , biceps, chest.... and those eyes. Those striking eyes of green surrounding a sharp brown pupil the shape of a diamond.
What is Kaveh to do? Having never seen anyone—anything like him.
Kaveh is an architect, an artist renowned for making Lord Sangemah Bay's grand estate. What is an artist to do when struck with such inspiration?
